Home

For 32 years I’ve been writing songs. The first recording I can remember doing was at my aunt & uncles house. My uncle brought a reel to reel tape machine home when he came back from Vietnam, and I would play guitar while we sang songs and recorded them. I think Sunshine On My Shoulders by John Denver was the first one we recorded. Those tapes burned up in a house fire. I sure wish I had them now, so I could laugh.
By the late 70’s I was recording on a friends 4 track reel to reel tape machine. I had already written quite a few songs, and with Ron’s help I recorded some of them. He ended up moving to L.A. to engineer film soundtracks.
I continued to write and record, and today I finally feel like I have found my voice. Some people get it together early on, but I’m a little slow. At age 52 I think I’ve developed a sound that is me.
I married my wonderful wife in 2008. She is a musician and singer, and a great one to boot. Last year we finished her first cd. Together we formed Ford Creative Productions to market our music, videos, and art.
It’s been quite a learning experience. We are recording music and creating videos and artwork. I don’t think I will ever catch up with all the software we have to use. That is the reason we started this blog. We want to relay all the information about the things we are learning, and hopefully shorten the journey for a few people. And I do mean journey. We have had to look in many places to find out what we need to know to develop and market our music and videos.
I’m a little slow putting all this together in a cohesive useful presentation, but hang in there with me and I’ll do my best. I hope find something you can use in this blog, and I wish you all the luck in the world.
Mike
